BERNER

Ever since I can remember, I have had dogs in my life.  My love for them has grown into a passion that I share with my husband.  Before we fell in love with the Bernese Mountain Dog, we raised English Mastiffs for 12 years.  At one point, we were involved in dog showing and conformation.  There we learned the importance of breeding dogs who were properly socialized from the start.  This can make or break a good dog.  We also learned the importance of only breeding dogs who will pass on good temperament and healthy genetics. 

Home for us is in Central Alberta, on a small acreage just outside of the city of Red Deer.  Our dogs are a huge part of our family and we only keep as many as can comfortably sprawl out on the kitchen floor or snuggle up with us on the couch.  It gets pretty crowded sometimes, especially in the long cold winter months. 

The Bernese dogs have a sweet, gentle demeanor which make them loyal, devoted family members.  Once a year, we travel to the Maritimes with our dogs, they are amazing travel companions who love meeting new people and exploring new places.  

Our goal is to produce healthy, sound temperament dogs

who have been given the best start in life.    

We implement the Puppy Culture Program or “early neurological stimulation” starting at 3 days old

and continue through the first 12 weeks of their life.
